AUGUST 2024 MARKET REPORT

Summer sun and summer storms are in full force here and at this time of year it feels like the real estate market is on summer break too. Now that the pandemic is behind us, we have returned to our typical seasonality - quieter summers and busy winters. The remainder of the country is now following Florida's lead as we continue the transition from a sellers to a buyers market.

This means higher inventory, greater choice for buyers, and increased competition for sellers. This is not a reason to panic. It is the readjustment of a market that has been overheated for a while now. Most economists agree that we will start to see more movement in the market in the last part of the year and interest rates are expected to come down, which will help affordability for buyers.
