Tommy Haas Leads the Revamp of Sarasota’s Bath + Racquet Residences & Club, Bringing Modern Luxury and Sports Together
The Bath + Racquet Club in Sarasota, once a premier destination for tennis in the 1970s, is undergoing a major transformation, blending its historic legacy with modern luxury and active living. This iconic facility, where tennis greats like Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert trained, is being re-imagined as the Bath + Racquet Residences & Club, a high-end residential development and private members club. Former tennis pro Tommy Haas is playing a pivotal role in the project, lending his expertise and global experience to shape the next chapter of this Sarasota landmark.
Haas’s Vision for a World-Class Sports Community
For Tommy Haas, this revitalization marks his debut into the real estate world, and it’s a deeply personal venture. Having spent years in the Sarasota and Bradenton areas, Haas considers Florida his "home away from home." As club curator and global ambassador, Haas’s involvement goes beyond branding—he’s actively shaping the future of the Bath + Racquet Club. “Sarasota and Bradenton have always been my home away from home,” Haas said in a recent interview with Robb Report.
The development will offer 256 luxury condominiums, with three-bedroom units starting at $1.3 million. Residents and members alike will gain access to a state-of-the-art racquet sports club. Haas’s role includes overseeing the design, programming, and tennis operations, all while ensuring that the club provides a top-tier experience for players of all levels.
“There’s going to be my input on what I think would work and what would help, having had the opportunity to travel around the world and having seen quite a few interesting clubs with their own spin,” Haas explained. “It might be the landscaping or the location of certain courts, knowing where the sun shines and stuff like that.”
Unparalleled Amenities for an Active Lifestyle
The Bath + Racquet Residences & Club is designed to be much more than a place to live—it’s a complete lifestyle experience. The racquet sports facilities will include 13 outdoor tennis courts, as well as 16 pickleball and padel courts. Of particular note are the 12 indoor pickleball courts, all air-conditioned to offer year-round comfort for members. "I’ve been getting more into racquet sports myself," Haas shared. "I’ve played lots of padel over the last two and a half years. Pickleball I’ve tried here and there, but I feel like that’s the future of these kinds of clubs.”
In addition to world-class racquet sports, the development offers an impressive array of other amenities to support a healthy, active lifestyle. These include two swimming pools, a 7,000-square-foot gym and wellness center, and running trails set amidst two acres of parkland. For residents and visitors seeking social engagement and dining options, there will also be a full-service restaurant on-site, as well as 65,000 square feet of commercial and office space.
The project’s developer, Fabio Di Prima of Sarasota Springs LLC, highlighted Haas’s contribution to the project: “Not only is Tommy a tennis legend, he understands what we’re trying to achieve, and he knows the area very well.” The Bath + Racquet Club will be exclusive to members, though non-residents will have the opportunity to purchase memberships.
Completion Slated for 2026
With construction underway, the Bath + Racquet Residences & Club is expected to be completed by the end of 2026. As this luxurious and amenity-rich development takes shape, it’s set to attract both residents seeking an active, wellness-oriented lifestyle and sports enthusiasts looking for premier facilities in a community with a deep tennis legacy.
